Subject: CADRE Practitioner

Description: Welcome and thank you for subscribing to the CADRE Practitioner Listserv. Our
intent is to provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and situation-
solution thinking regarding dispute prevention and resolution, particularly as it
relates to special education. The objective is to tap our collective wisdom in service
of continuous quality improvement in our professional practice.

Periodically, a theme/situation will be introduced by listserv participants or the
moderator. Listserv members are encouraged to respectfully share their
perspectives and engage in on-line dialogue. We invite subscribers to ‘seek first to
understand (listen), and then to be understood (heard)’ - the basis for true
dialogue and crosspollination of ideas. Serial monologues aimed at identifying
absolute truths are discouraged.

The moderator’s role will be primarily one of listening in and, as opportunities
arise, gently guiding the dialogue and possibly sharing resources. While we trust
that it won’t be necessary, the moderator will also be charged with ensuring that
unrelated postings are not permitted to distract us from our primary purpose.
